Spice it up with Mr Pepper!

I have been sweating hard the past month! We have just finished the beginner course for Realtime 3D (games) and it was filled (again) with information and programmes that I didn’t know or have used before. Learning is so much fun and mostly very hard work… and next week we will continue with the animation course!

During this course we went through some basics of coding {omg}, we learned more about low poly/high poly assets and used programmes like ZBrush/Mudbox, but mainly we worked with Unity and 3d Max.

The course’s main task was to make an Endless Runner game on Unity. The teacher showed his Arizona/desert themed project as to how to make different game assets and then we had the chance to make our own version either using the same style or something totally different. But the main thing was that it had to be an Endless Runner style.

I came up with the idea of spices and then developed it to my character, Mr Pepper, who has to travel through the kitchen, jump from shelf to shelf, avoid sharp knives and the evil cat, and finally spice up the soup. As I am not familiar with coding I just used the teacher’s codes on my game.

I’m quite happy with the result, even though the game is very short and there are things I could make better if I had more time and brain power.  We had to present all our games today and my classmates games (too :)) were just awesomely magnificent! I would like to steal some of their brain waves… *evil grin & laugh*.

Here are some of Mr Pepper’s illustrations:
